The till first. Everything else when you need it.

At the start, little is enough

A salon does not need inventory management with a hundred functions before the first customer pays. It needs a till that is fast, simple to use and does exactly what matters day to day: pick the service, take the money, let them pay, print the receipt.

With QASSE Light you carry the till on your smartphone. You pick the treatment or the article sold, put the basket together and take payment. Through the Stripe connection a compatible iPhone can become the payment terminal itself, so the customer simply holds her card against your device. For mobile hairdressers and beauticians who work at their customers, that is exactly enough.

For larger businesses there is QASSE as a full till terminal. Services, products, article groups and variants are held there, from a plain cut through balayage to the shampoo for home. And because rarely only one customer is served at a time, several baskets stay open in parallel: while customer A lets her colour develop, customer B is already with the next stylist. Every transaction stays assigned to its customer and is only closed when payment is actually taken.

There is more behind a sale than an amount. Through the built-in CRM you know your customer and her history: which services were done at the last visit, which products she bought, what particulars there are. Once she has found her individual colour mix, you store the recipe right on her record. At the next appointment nobody has to guess what the ratio was, and the recipe can be printed and taken to the colour bar or called up on a mobile device.

You start small. One person, one chair, one customer are enough for the first run through.

When staff come along

With the second and third chair the question of hours becomes a question of money. Your staff record start and end of work right at the till terminal, where they work every day anyway. Time recording, shifts and working time models sit together, and the target comes from working time model, shift and public holiday calendar.

Holiday, sickness and other absences are requested, checked and approved. At month end the figures are there together and can be provided to payroll or the tax adviser as CSV and Excel through export templates.

Pay types cover hourly wage, flat rate, supplement and benefit in kind, so not every special case has to be worked out by hand.

Who may see what is governed by permissions down to field level through release groups. The assistant at the till does not see the same as the owner.

And when the business grows

Care products, colours and accessories are articles with variants and free attributes. Every sale acts on stock, and reorder level and minimum stock sit on the article before a range runs out.

Stocktaking runs with count sheets and barcode capture. Afterwards there is the value of the stock, not an estimate.

What is going well shows in the reports on turnover and services sold. Which treatment is booked often and which product sits unsold is read there rather than guessed.

If the studio becomes a business with purchasing, several locations and its own warehouse, QASSE works together with the Jobtura world and the same data grows with it. But you do not have to start big just because those options exist. A good till has to do one thing above all: make your day simpler.
